White HareDistillery

White Hare Distillery occupies a building on Bridge Street in Usk, founded by Christos Kyriakidis, who spent twenty years in hospitality including a stint at Plymouth Gin before returning to Wales. He launched White Hare Gin in October 2018, a London dry style gin flavoured with pine, rosemary and pink grapefruit foraged locally alongside four further botanicals. Early bottles sold only through social media, reaching around four hundred sales before Kyriakidis opened a physical premises on the high street. The distillery now runs a Gin Experience and a tasting masterclass, walking visitors through the still and letting them create their own gin to take home. Kyriakidis also runs The Mad Platter, a microbar and kitchen elsewhere in Usk, giving him two small hospitality ventures within walking distance of each other in the same town.
