Raglan Garden Centre sits on Abergavenny Road on the western edge of Raglan, formed in 1991 when Martin and Jean Davies took over a site that had fallen into disrepair. The family sold the business to Wyevale Garden Centres in 2014, then bought it back in 2018, returning with son Alex Davies as managing director from 2019. Alongside plants, tools and homeware, the centre runs the Sugarloaf Restaurant, which bakes its own cakes, pies and quiches daily and sources eggs, meat and poultry from Monmouthshire farms. Tables inside and on the terrace look towards the Black Mountains. The kitchen serves breakfast through to afternoon tea, alongside chef specials and light bites. It remains family run after the two ownership changes, distinguishing it from the corporate garden centre chains operating elsewhere in Wales.
