The FarmShop, Ponthir

The Farm Shop at Ponthir has traded from its site on Caerleon Road for more than three decades, run as a small family business rather than part of a wider group. Alongside seasonal fruit and vegetables, dairy, fresh meat and baked goods, the shop stocks preserves and pantry staples, plus free-range eggs and local honey that regulars come back for specifically. It also carries a wide range of animal feed, particularly for horses, with brands including Spillers, Baileys, Allen and Page and Dodson and Horrell kept in stock for smallholders and equestrian customers in the surrounding villages. A catering van on site serves hot food to visitors, and parking is free. The shop sits just off the Caerleon Road on the eastern edge of Ponthir, within reach of both Newport and Caerleon.
