Scott and Mandy Taylor run Taylor Meats on Mortimer Street, where their son Tom is nearing the end of a butchery apprenticeship. The shop works directly with Kentish farmers and makes its own sausages and cured bacon on the premises rather than buying them in. At the 2025 National Craft Butchers awards it won gold medals for black garlic bacon and boerewors, and silver for lamb merguez. A second, smaller branch trades from Harbour Street in Ramsgate, with twelve staff across both shops.
