The Marches Deli occupies Chippenham House on Monnow Street in Monmouth, run by owner Tom Lewis, who moved the business from Abergavenny to its current premises around 2018. The cheese counter is the centrepiece, stocked with Welsh and Marches-region cheeses alongside imported varieties, and shelves carry chutneys, jams, pickles, bread, beer, wine and spirits sourced from producers across Wales and the surrounding counties. A walled courtyard garden behind the shop serves as a coffee area, where customers can sit with a plate of cheese or cured meats before deciding what to buy inside. The deli trades Tuesday to Saturday, with the attached coffee shop keeping slightly shorter hours than the shop itself. Lewis built the business's reputation in Abergavenny before relocating to Monmouth, bringing an established customer base with him, and the shop continues to be cited locally as one of the region's better-stocked delicatessens for cheese in particular.
