The Tin Shed is a micropub on Brows Lane in Formby village, first opened in 2020 as one of the area's earliest small-format pubs focused on cask ale rather than a full bar and games machines. In 2026, licensees Ade O'Dowd and Jackie Walsh took over the pub and reopened it with a refreshed interior, adding a reading and board-games corner, new wall art including a large Liverpool waterfront print, and repainted frontage, while keeping the pub's original format of rotating guest ales, real cider and a room built for conversation rather than screens or music. The pub is registered at Companies House under Tin Shed Pubs Ltd and trades daily with reduced Sunday hours. It sits close to Formby's shops and the village swimming pool, where the reopening coincided with the Formby Live festival. With no kitchen, food is limited to snacks, keeping the focus on the cask ale list and rotating guest ciders chalked up behind the bar.
