Lee Zeverona founded Crosby Cheese & Charcuterie on St John's Road in 2021, leaving a twenty-year career in financial consultancy to turn a lifelong obsession with cheese into a shop. He traces the pull back to childhood, when he gravitated toward the cheese counter rather than the sweets. The shop cuts and wraps to order from a rotating stock of British farmhouse cheeses alongside Spanish and Italian charcuterie, and staff talk customers through what has just come in rather than working from a fixed list. Boards are built to order for takeaway, and packaging is kept deliberately minimal. In 2025 the business was named a finalist in the Farm Shop & Deli Retailer Awards, recognition for a shop that Zeverona still describes as having started out as a hobby rather than a business plan.
