Satterthwaites Bakehouse operates from a single purpose-built shop at 51 Coronation Road in Crosby, opened in April 2013 by new owners reviving a bakery name that had traded across Crosby and Bootle since 1910. Unlike the earlier multi-branch business, which closed its seven shops in 2012, the present bakehouse trades from this one address, with the bakery built at the front of the shop so customers can watch and smell bread and pastries being made. Pork pies are the best-known product, drawing queues at weekends, alongside seasonal variations including black pudding, chorizo and pickle. Pasties, sausage rolls and traditional cakes are also made daily on site. Open Monday to Saturday with both indoor and outdoor seating, the bakehouse trades as a single-site independent business rather than a revival of the historic multi-shop format.
