Diane Park opened Wave of Nostalgia on Haworth's Main Street in 2015, after several years running weekend stalls selling vintage clothes, bunting and up-cycled objects under the same name. The shop pivoted toward books once demand for them grew during the pandemic, and the stock now runs almost entirely to fiction and non-fiction written by women, covering suffragettes, feminism, LGBT lives, wellbeing and the environment. Handmade clothing and gifts designed by women, some local and some from further afield, sit alongside the shelves. Four part-time staff help Park run the business seven days a week from a listed building on the cobbled hill leading up to the Brontë Parsonage Museum. The shop was named Independent Bookshop of the Year for the North in the British Book Awards.
