Hawksbys is a gallery and shop at 111 Main Street in Haworth, run by Claire and Barry Foster from the ground floor of their own house on the village's cobbled main street. Stock is drawn entirely from independent UK artists, designers and makers rather than wholesale gift suppliers, covering ceramics, paintings, art prints, mixed-media pieces, sculpture, jewellery, stationery and greetings cards. The Fosters select what to stock themselves, choosing pieces they describe as handmade rather than mass-produced, and the range changes as different makers' work comes in and sells. The shop opens six days a week from March to December, closed Tuesdays, reducing to Thursday-to-Sunday opening in January and February. It sits among Haworth's cluster of independent shops on the steep stretch of Main Street below the Bronte Parsonage Museum, distinct from the village's tearoom and souvenir trade for its focus on original, small-batch work.
