Brothers Gary and Adrian Stevenson opened Y Groser Harlech, trading as Harlech Food Emporium, on the town's High Street on 7 March 2022, backed by a Development Bank of Wales micro loan. The shop sells fresh bread, croissants and pastries baked daily, Welsh beef and lamb from local butchers, fruit and vegetables, Welsh cheeses, and wines, beers and spirits chosen from Welsh suppliers. It has since launched its own house-roasted coffee under the Y Groser Harlech name, sold alongside deli counter produce such as cold meats, antipasti, salads and pork pies. Both brothers came to the venture from catering, retail and hospitality backgrounds and live locally in Llanfair, Harlech. The shop is open six days a week, closing early on Wednesdays and shorter hours on Sunday.
