Cob Records

Cob Records has traded from Britannia Terrace in Porthmadog under the same ownership since 1967, making it one of the longest-running independent record shops in Wales. The shop deals in new and second-hand vinyl LPs, 7-inch and 12-inch singles, CDs and DVDs, with a particular strength in Welsh-language music alongside rock, folk and classical stock built up through decades of trade-ins and house clearances. A find-your-wants service tracks down specific deleted or hard-to-find records for customers, and the shop runs a worldwide mail-order side of the business alongside the counter trade. It is open Monday to Saturday during the day and Sunday afternoons, and continues to buy, sell and exchange records, CDs and DVDs directly across the counter, with a substantial second-hand vinyl stock kept behind the till for regular collectors.
