Ann Muller learned to crimp beside her mother, Hettie Merrick — a professional pasty-maker and the author of The Pasty Book — and built the business over thirty-odd years: a market stall behind the museum in Helston, a first Porthleven shop opened with £3,000 borrowed from the Midland Bank, a pasty kitchen her husband Tony converted from the garage of their home at the Lizard. Her son Fergus, the third generation, now leads the making. The pasties run from a 350-gram regular to a 1.5-kilo celebration size, cooked or frozen, with every supplier based within ten miles; the shop on the Square added a small bar in 2021, pouring Cornish beers alongside the crimp. Two further shops trade in Helston and Porthleven.
