Surveyed
Built in 1898 from locally sourced stone on the cliffs above Mullion's working harbour, with the original pitch-pine staircase still in place. The Grose family — hoteliers at the Thurlestone in Devon since 1896 — bought it in 2006 and have worked through it steadily since: the original forty-two rooms consolidated to thirty, the Atlantic View restaurant holding two AA rosettes since 2013, an 1841 fish cellar converted to harbour apartments, and a clifftop spa opened in 2019. It is that rare thing on this coast, a proper full-service hotel still in family hands, and it stays open all year, Christmas included.
