Antur Stiniog

Antur Stiniog is a community-owned mountain bike centre built into the slate-tip landscape above Blaenau Ffestiniog, established in 2007 after local residents petitioned for an outdoor tourism venture that would bring jobs to the town. Uplift vehicles carry riders to the top of a series of graded downhill trails cut through disused quarry workings, and the on-site building houses a café, bike shop and hire fleet. Profits are reinvested in the enterprise itself and in local community projects rather than distributed to outside shareholders.
