Bare Glazed Pottery Studio opened in Gorse Hill in 2020, offering wheel-throwing and hand-building classes across a converted unit on Cricklade Road fitted out with a bank of kick wheels. Beginners can book a single taster session or a longer course, while more experienced potters use the studio on an open-access basis to glaze and fire their own work. The studio also runs raku firing days outdoors, where pots are pulled from the kiln red-hot and smoked in sawdust for a crackled finish, alongside simpler paint-a-pot sessions aimed at children and family groups. Kids' clubs run in school holidays, and the studio takes private bookings for small groups wanting a one-off session rather than a term-long course. Clay, glazes and firing are included in the class price.
