Cafe Glaze occupies a unit on Penda Way in Sandbach, where customers choose a piece of plain pottery from the shelves and paint it at one of the studio's tables, with no separate studio fee charged beyond the cost of the piece itself. The business was started by Joyce before passing in October 2022 to new owners Helen and Rachel, who have kept the format largely unchanged: drop-in sessions for individuals, organised classes for beginners, and weekend workshops for those wanting more guidance with glazing technique. Finished pieces are fired on site and are usually ready to collect about a week later. The studio also hosts birthday parties and small group bookings, and sells gift vouchers for those wanting to introduce someone else to pottery painting.
