The Duncairn Centre for Culture & Arts occupies a former Presbyterian church, schoolroom and manse on the Antrim Road, built in 1860-62 to a design by W J Barre, the architect behind the Ulster Hall and Albert Memorial Clock. The Grade B1 listed church closed for worship in 1995 and stood empty for over fifteen years before the 174 Trust took it on, using Heritage Lottery funding to convert it into a shared arts venue that opened in 2014. It now holds three artist studios, exhibition galleries, community rooms and a 190-capacity theatre and concert space under one roof, alongside a café. Its programme runs across theatre, live music, visual art and community classes, making it North Belfast's main dedicated arts and culture building.
