Echo 3 Coffee House and Roastery opened in Clark's Yard in 2018, started by a young couple who spotted a gap for proper speciality coffee in a town largely served by chain cafés. Coffee is roasted on the premises in small batches, and the counter sells homemade traybakes, brownies and scones alongside it, with gluten-free and vegan options baked most days. The room is decorated with Star Wars memorabilia collected by the owners rather than any deliberate theme, giving the shop a personal, slightly cluttered character. It keeps short hours, open Tuesday to Saturday mornings only and closed on Sunday and Monday, with outdoor seating in the yard for customers who want to sit with a takeaway cup. Dogs are welcome inside, and the till doubles as a small counter for retail bags of beans.
