Forage Farm Shop & Kitchen opened in 2020 on the Homfray family's Penllyn Estate, which the family has farmed since 1846, just off the A48 outside Cowbridge. The shop sells meat reared on the estate's own farmland alongside produce from other Welsh suppliers, with more than seventy per cent of stock sourced from within Wales. An open kitchen prepares breakfast, lunch, dinner, afternoon tea and a Sunday roast using ingredients from the shop's own shelves, and there is outdoor seating known as The Hatch for takeaway food. The estate runs a 120kWh solar array and has planted more than 50,000 trees since 1990, part of a wider shift toward diversified, lower-impact farming. Forage has been named Welsh Farm Shop of the Year in multiple consecutive years since opening.
