Great Garnetts

Great Garnetts is a family-run pig and turkey farm on High Easter Road at Bishops Green, Barnston, a few miles from Great Dunmow. The Smith family has farmed the site since 1970 and now runs it under Jonathan and Julie Smith. A farm shop sells home-reared pork, bacon and sausages, and since opening a full butchery in November 2021 has added locally sourced beef, lamb, game and chicken from other Essex producers. Customers order online for Friday collection or delivery to CM6, CM1, CM22 and CM23 postcodes, with a Wednesday midday cut-off. The shop opens Thursday and Friday from 8am to 4pm and Saturday mornings, and the farm takes part in local farmers' markets through the year. Reviewers single out the pork chops and bacon. The farm operates as a single site, selling produce raised and processed on the holding rather than through a wider retail network.
