Haywood Farm has been worked by the Bray family since 1919, in the Allen Valley a few miles from Wadebridge and Bodmin. Cider had always been made on the farm to supply the household and its labourers, but the current commercial operation began in 2003 when Tom Bray started pressing and selling it more widely with help from friends. Apples are still crushed using the farm's own granite cider press, and the ciders are sold as traditional Cornish still cider rather than the carbonated, sweetened versions found in supermarkets. The farm runs orchard tours that end with a tasting of the cider alongside a Cornish cheese board, giving visitors a look at the eighteen acres of trees before they try what comes out of them.
