Surveyed
A sixteenth-century inn at the centre of a quiet village off the moor, with a villagers' bar, two dining rooms warmed by log burners, and four bedrooms upstairs. The kitchen has had well-known hands — the chef Emily Scott ran the pub for six years before selling in 2021 — and the current operators, who also run the Upper Deck at Rock, took it on in 2024, with George Buckley leading the kitchen; an AA Rosette arrived the same year. Seasonal menus with a stated bent for sustainable sourcing, and a Sunday lunch that runs, in the pub's own phrase, until empty. Closed Mondays.
