Joule's is the rare brewery revival done at full scale: Steve Nuttall, once the brand's manager, brought the name back at Market Drayton in 2010 — the original company had closed under Bass in the 1970s — and rebuilt it the way breweries used to be built, with a tied estate of its own taphouses across Shropshire, Staffordshire, Cheshire and Wales, and a first Birmingham house bought in May 2025. The brewery tap is the Red Lion next door, a pub of 1623 and the first house of the revival, reopened in August 2025 from a refurbishment that added tank beer served fresh from the brewery beside it. Vicky Colclough runs the company as managing director. Drink it where it's made; that is rather the point of the model.
