Wollerton Old Hall Garden occupies three acres around a Grade II*-listed sixteenth-century hall in the hamlet of Wollerton, north Shropshire. Lesley Jenkins, a former art teacher, returned to her childhood home in 1983 with her husband John and began shaping the grounds into a sequence of fourteen linked garden rooms divided by clipped hedges, walls and a series of north-south and east-west vistas. The planting favours herbaceous perennials, with notable collections of salvias, clematis and roses. A tea room serves lunches between noon and two, including a platter of ham from a local butcher, homemade quiche and Belton Farm cheeses, alongside cream teas with homemade scones. Seating is available indoors and on an outdoor terrace, weather permitting. The garden opens seasonally from April to September.
