A café on Portland Street built on the site of the original Kardomah Café, destroyed in the Swansea Blitz of February 1941 and reopened here in 1957. The earlier Castle Street branch was the meeting place of the Kardomah Boys, a circle of young Swansea writers and artists that included Dylan Thomas. Run by the Luporini family since 1970, it retains its 1950s Formica tables, mosaic columns and dark wood panelling and serves breakfasts and light lunches through the day.
