Kendalls Fine Art is a gallery on The Parade in Cowes specialising in marine and yachting art, founded in the 1990s by Kenneth Kendall, the former BBC television newsreader, after he retired to the Isle of Wight. Kendall and his partner Mark built up a roster of marine artists whose work depicts Cowes Week, Solent racing and coastal scenes, and commissioned the current purpose-built gallery premises on The Parade in 2007. The gallery has been run since 2012 by Jeremy and Simon, who have kept the marine art focus while extending the stock to sculpture, antiques and contemporary painting. It holds original paintings and sculpture from more than 60 maritime artists, alongside furniture and antique pieces selected to complement the art. Kendalls is a founding sponsor of the Isle of Wight Literary Festival and takes part in Cowes Week and other Solent regattas each year, tying the gallery's programme to the sailing calendar around it.
