Caffè Isola began in 2006 in a small unit on Watchbell Lane before moving into a former Beavis building attached to the old Congregational church's lecture hall on St James Street. The café roasts its own beans on the first floor under the Island Roasted name, a process visitors can watch while they are in the building. Downstairs serves simple Italian-leaning food made fresh for eating in or taking away, alongside local cheese, chutneys, Wight Label tea and other island-made goods. A sister company runs a separate wholesale roastery nearby, supplying the trade beyond the café's own retail counter. The first-floor space doubles as flexible workspace, rented out by the hour or day, and hosts private evening functions once the café below has closed. Home espresso machines and coffee equipment are sold alongside the food and drink.
