Kilmorack Gallery occupies a former parish church at Kilmorack, by Beauly, converted by owner Tony Davidson after he founded the gallery in 1997. The eighteenth-century building was redundant before Davidson took it on, and its reuse is now cited as a model for adapting Highland churches no longer needed for worship. Inside, changing exhibitions show contemporary painting and sculpture by a stable of mostly Scottish artists, selected on Davidson's own curatorial judgement rather than industry convention. Davidson wrote about building the gallery in his 2022 memoir, Confessions of a Highland Art Dealer, shortlisted for the Highland Book Prize. The gallery runs a full seasonal programme of exhibitions through the winter months. Open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm in winter, and by appointment outside those hours.
