Kitschnbake

Kitschnbake was founded in 2010 by Mary-Jane and her family on Boat Road in Newport-on-Tay, on the Fife shore of the Tay looking across to Dundee. The cafe built a local following for cakes, traybakes and afternoon teas made from scratch each morning using Fairtrade and organic ingredients where available. Ownership passed to another local family at the end of 2023, when Laura Smith, who had managed the cafe through that year, took charge of Kitschnbake Ltd, company number SC440668. The cafe still bakes daily and takes orders for celebration cakes and food platters for parties and events, and supports the Newport-on-Tay community through local schools and the local food bank. It serves breakfast and lunch alongside its bakery counter seven days a week. The business has picked up regional food awards along the way and continues to run from its single riverside premises rather than expanding to further branches.
