Lant Street Wine trades from a former nineteenth-century cork warehouse just off Borough High Street, a minute's walk from Borough tube station. The business grew out of Waterloo Wine Co, which had operated in the area since 1986, and took its current name after Ben and David Wilcock acquired it in 2015. The shop and adjoining warehouse stock wines sourced directly from small, largely family-run estates across Europe, sold both to the trade and to walk-in customers, with staff who have generally tasted what is on the shelves. Peter Ledgerwood, who has worked at the site since 1986, runs regular tastings in the shop and warehouse space, which also hosts private events and hire. Prices are aimed at everyday drinking rather than investment bottles, with an emphasis throughout on smaller producers rather than well-known names.
