Adrian Livesey cut his first shop's ribbon in Chorley on 21 February 1983 and moved the business into Preston's Market Hall in 2002, where it has anchored the meat trade since — the fortieth anniversary in 2023 came with a surprise family party and the mayor in attendance, and Adrian turned seventy the following spring still behind the counter, his son Sam beside him. The stall buys from independent farmers and supplies several of the city's restaurants, which is the quiet test of a butcher other cooks trust. The hall around it is the council's; the business is entirely the family's.
