Vinyl Groove Audio is a hi-fi showroom set up by Ian Barnett in a converted dairy building at Clifton Fields, on the Lytham Road between Preston and Kirkham. Barnett spent more than three decades representing hi-fi brands and retailers internationally before opening his own showroom, which is arranged into separate listening spaces for vinyl playback, network streaming, headphones and home cinema. The shop sells turntables, amplifiers, loudspeakers, phono stages and streaming components from brands including Rega, Naim, Sonus Faber, Chord Electronics and Michell, and also stocks new and secondhand vinyl records. Staff offer record cleaning and bespoke system design, building systems around a customer's room and existing equipment rather than selling off the shelf. Visits to the showroom are by appointment, which lets customers audition systems without other trade in the room. It is a single-site, independently owned business rather than part of any retail group.
