Lynton Cinema occupies a Grade II listed former Methodist chapel on Lee Road, built in 1910 and converted into a single-screen cinema that opened in 2001. With sixty-eight seats in a tiered auditorium, it is recognised as one of the smallest full-time cinemas in England, serving Lynton and Lynmouth's year-round population of around two thousand people. The building retains its original stained glass windows and high ceilings, now fitted with digital projection and Dolby surround sound. The programme mixes current releases, independent films and family screenings, with tickets bookable online or by phone. Its size and setting within Exmoor National Park make it a popular option for visitors staying in the twin villages on a wet day. The cinema is run independently as a single site.
