The Shore Inn stands on Portsoy's old harbour, in a Category C listed building recorded from the mid-eighteenth century. The bar is a low-ceilinged, L-shaped room with a real fire, traditional pub games and views over what guidebooks call the oldest harbour on the Moray coast. No food is served, but two changing cask ales are kept alongside standard draught and bottled beers, enough to earn recognition from CAMRA's Aberdeen, Grampian and Northern Isles branch. Live music runs on some evenings and the pub is dog friendly, with outdoor seating used in summer. The building was used as a filming location for Peaky Blinders, renamed the Hotel Lalanne for the series. It continues to trade as an independent local pub rather than part of a managed group, serving both regulars and passing visitors.
