Inverurie Garden Centre traces its origins to around 1976, when Duncan Forbes established a nursery in a former railway shed on the edge of the town. The Milne family bought the business on 1 July 1993 and built a new garden and machinery centre on Oldmeldrum Road, which opened in March 2003, between the Ury and Don rivers. The centre sells plants, garden machinery, gifts and homeware, and runs an in-house restaurant using locally sourced ingredients. It remains a single-site operation under continuous Milne family ownership since 1993, distinct from unrelated garden centres of similar name elsewhere in Scotland. Machinery sales and servicing continue alongside the retail and plant side of the business.
