The Redgarth on Kirk Brae occupies a house built in 1928 by local baker John Gordon. It became the Redgarth Cocktail Bar in 1961 under Bill Paterson, began serving food in 1982, and was formally established as an inn in 1994 by Stuart Singer, who had bought the business at the end of 1989 and opened its doors on 10 January 1990. Singer introduced cask-conditioned ales early in his tenure, and the pub has since won CAMRA Scotland's Country Pub of the Year award in 2020, 2023 and 2024, serving four rotating real ales from Scottish microbreweries including Cromarty, Fyne Ales and Swannay through gravity dispense and handpump. It has six en-suite letting rooms named after trees, a restaurant, a garden with campervan spaces, and hosts a monthly folk music session. Overlooking Bennachie in the Eastern Grampians, it remains a single, independently run inn rather than part of a group.
