Barra Berries sits at Barra Castle, on the B9170 between Inverurie and Oldmeldrum, on land the Stephen family has farmed since 1904. Sarah and David Stephen started growing soft fruit commercially in 2003, and the farm shop grew from that berry business before Barra Kitchen, a daily café serving breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea, was added in 2019. The shop sells the farm's own strawberries, raspberries and tayberries in season, its own-recipe ice cream made with Mackie's, and a range of goods from other Aberdeenshire producers. It is dog friendly with ample parking, reflecting its position on a working farm rather than a retail park. The Stephen family remain sole owners and operators, and the business has no other branches beyond this one site at Barra Castle.
