Strachans Inverurie

Strachans has traded from West High Street in Inverurie since 1938, when it began as a fruit and vegetable cart, and is now run by the fifth generation of the Strachan family under the registered name William M Strachan Limited. The three-storey shop combines a newsagent, toy department, deli counter, ice cream bar, and gift hall under one roof. Third-generation owner Roy Strachan was among the first UK retailers to stock Lego, acting on a tip from a Danish contact. Five family members still work the shop floor alongside other staff, keeping the business an Inverurie institution.
