St Davids Bookshop — Siop Lyfrau Tyddewi — has been run by the same family since 1957, opened by the current owner's father and kept going by his son, which makes it one of the longest-held independent bookshops in Wales, in Britain's smallest city. It moved from The Pebbles to Maes Dyfed in 2021 but is otherwise unchanged: new books, second-hand, and a good shelf of Welsh-interest and local writing, in a city that draws walkers and pilgrims to its cathedral. A family bookshop of nearly seventy years, at the far western edge of Wales. The kind of shop a small city is lucky to keep.
