The CompanyShed

The Company Shed sits in a shed on Coast Road in West Mersea, run by the Haward family, who have supplied oysters from the island since 1792. What began as a fishmonger now doubles as an eat-in seafood spot, with around ten tables inside where customers can have gigas and native oysters, crab and lobster served straight from the counter. The business also takes online orders for takeaway and prepares seafood meal kits to cook at home, alongside catering for private events. It holds a 4-star food hygiene rating and opens Wednesday to Sunday, with last orders at 3.30pm midweek and 4.30pm at the weekend.
