The Courthouse Museum on Minster Road occupies Ripon's Quarter Sessions courthouse of 1830, which continued as a Magistrates Court until 1998 and opened as a museum a year later; the interiors were redecorated in 2005 in the building's original colour scheme. Three rooms — Jury Room, Justices' Retiring Room and Courtroom — cover the Liberty of Ripon, the dock, and sentences of hard labour and transportation. Run by Ripon Museum Trust. Open daily 1pm to 4pm.
