Blind Jack's occupies a Grade II listed building dating to 1741 on Knaresborough's Market Place, named after local road-builder John, known as Blind Jack, Metcalf. Landlords Christian and Alice have run the free house since around 2017, serving eight keg lines and six handpulled cask ales that rotate regularly, alongside wine and spirits. The building's foundations are said to be built from stone taken from Knaresborough Castle after Cromwell's forces destroyed it, and its attic beams are thought to have come from retired ships. The pub has traded as an independent free house since 1991 and won Best Beer Pub at the Great British Pub Awards in 2025. It sits at 19 Market Place in the town centre.
