The Dolby Gallery occupies a former Oundle doctors' surgery on West Street, bought and converted into a house, studio and gallery by artists Simon and Gillian Dolby, who established the gallery in 2000. For its first two decades the gallery showed work by artists from across the UK and abroad in what had been the surgery's waiting rooms. In 2020 the Dolbys changed direction, and the gallery now shows mainly their own output: Simon's paintings of Oundle and the surrounding Nene valley, limited edition prints, handmade textiles and greetings cards, alongside a framing service and commissions. The gallery is open Monday to Saturday, split into morning and afternoon sessions, and closed all day Wednesday. It sits among West Street's cluster of independent shops close to the Market Place, and Simon Dolby continues to record the town's streets and surrounding countryside in his paintings, some produced as limited runs for local buyers.
