Helen's mother bought what was then the Goring Arms around 1989 and renamed it the Dove, and the pub has stayed in family hands at the bottom of Broadway Market since. It operates as a free house rather than under a brewery tie, with four handpumps given over to local and microbrewery beers alongside a bottled Belgian beer list built up over the years. A single bar with a corner-facing frontage serves as the main room, with more seating behind it and a kitchen turning out beer-dough pizza. The Dove has featured in CAMRA's Good Beer Guide and was one of the businesses that helped establish Broadway Market as a destination before its markets and shops arrived.
