The Handmade Shopand Gallery

The Handmade Shop and Gallery is a cooperative on St Johns Street in Bury St Edmunds, owned and run collectively by the East Anglian designer-makers whose work fills it; the group shares the day-to-day running and costs between them rather than answering to a single proprietor. The stock includes both permanent members and visiting guest artists, and spans original prints, textiles, glass, paintings, silver and gemstone jewellery, and hand-made greeting cards and gift wrap. Members change the mix of work in the gallery through the year as pieces sell and new stock is brought in. The shop is open Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm, and Saturday, 10am to 5pm, with a lunchtime closure between 1pm and 1.30pm each day.
