The Market Place Theatreand Arts Centre

The Market Place Theatre and Arts Centre stands on Market Street in Armagh city centre, opened in 2000 and marking twenty-five years in operation in 2025. It holds a 400-seat main auditorium and a smaller 120-seat studio space, alongside workshop and meeting rooms used for classes, rehearsals and community events, plus bars and a restaurant on site. The venue programmes touring theatre, music, comedy and dance alongside work by local companies and schools. Box office hours run Monday to Saturday, 9.30am to 4.30pm, extending to 7pm on the evening of a performance and to curtain-up for that night's ticket sales. It is Armagh's main purpose-built performing arts venue, run as a single site rather than part of a touring circuit or venue group.
