The Moody CowFarm Shop

The Moody Cow Farm Shop, Butchery and Welsh Bistro sits within Bargoed Farm at Llwyncelyn, on the edge of Aberaeron, a farm bought derelict in 2010 by Geraint and Chris Thomas after losing their previous holding in the Brecon Beacons. The farm shop opened in 2018, stocking local and British produce: fresh fruit and vegetables, cheeses, cured meats and home-baked cakes, pies and pasties from its own kitchen, alongside a butchery counter and Welsh gifts and crafts. An attached bistro serves cooked meals using the same local sourcing. The shop won the Best Rural Diversification Project category at the Rural Business Awards. Everything trades from the single Llwyncelyn site the Thomas family rebuilt from a derelict holding, rather than from multiple branches.
