The NovelCoffee Shop

Run by the charity Southend Mencap at 98 London Road, this coffee shop pours freshly ground coffee made by barista-trained staff, alongside teas, homemade cakes and cream teas. Shelves of books, DVDs, vinyl and CDs surround the tables, and donations of good-quality stock are welcomed. The project exists to provide training and work placements for adults with learning disabilities. Outside seating in warmer weather; open Monday to Saturday, 9.30am to 4pm, with the room available for hire.
