The Queen's Head stands on Park Lane in Congleton, opposite the railway station and beside the canal, and very nearly became housing in 2018 before a local consortium bought the freehold to keep it trading as a pub. Rob Allen, one of that consortium, later took full ownership with his wife Adele in 2022, and the pair have kept it as a free house with six cask lines including Bass and Beartown's Queen's Pale alongside rotating guest beers. A Thursday evening boardgames group meets in the bar, and the pub keeps a policy of welcoming dogs both inside and in the outdoor drinking area. Food is served alongside the drinking side of the business, and the pub has featured in recent editions of the Good Beer Guide.
